Music
After receiving a B.S. degree in music performance from
Western Michigan University in 1985, Mike Harvey moved to
South Florida where he still lives and
performs. Mike has been drum camp director at
the University of Miami/Ellis Family Music summer music
camp for the past 18 years. Some of his most recent performances
include three touring the world with Julio Iglesias, shows
with legendary arranger Charlie Calello, Former Saturday
Night Live Musical Director, Lew Del Gatto and Jazz
Guitarist Gene Bertoncini, Leslie Uggams, Randy Brecker,
Lesley Gore, Robert Klein, Don Rickles, Lena Horn, Arturo
Sandoval, Shirley Jones, Tony Sandler, Greg Abate, Peter
Graves, Sunrise Pops Orchestra, Miami Heat Pep band, Nester
Torres. Othelo Monlineaux, Dana Paul and many others. He is
currently performing with international Recording artist Ed
Calle, and his own band “The Circle" featuring Rick
Krive. Mike
has his own production co, and has done work for such
artists as Philip Michael Thomas, Ernst Ranglin, Reggae
legend Bob Andy, Gene Bristow and EFM artists Nancy Haywood
and Kyle Bielfield. Mike has recently recorded drums in
his home studio for Dion Dimucci's Time/Warner cd release
"Hereos". He just finished recording tracks for Englebert
Humpedinck’s next release at ‘The Hit
Factory” (Criteria Studios) in Miami, with renound
producer Charlie Calello. Charlie is responsible for hits
for such artist as Roberto
Carlos, Frank
Sinatra, Neil
Diamond, Al
Kooper, Bruce
Springsteen, Laura
Nyro, Barbra
Streisand, Ray
Charles, Bobby
Vinton, Barry
Manilow, Juice
Newton, to
name a few.
When not performing, you can find Mike working on some of
the local television production crews either recording
sound or working as a video assist technician.
